Lake - Fragrance Oil

Amazing scent!

This scent is one of my absolute favorites! To me it's a bit milky and sweet, but woodsy and warm too. It has such a comforting scent to me that's hard to explain. When I wear it I can smell it all day, but it's not quite as strong as I'd like. I think paired with the perfume itself this would last all day, and other people would be able to smell it more. Definitely one of my favorite scents though!

I'm VERY sensitive to smells and chemicals, so I needed something very light and clean. Even some other clean perfumes give me headaches-- this one doesn't give me any! I chose the oil so I could be more precise with the application. It smells cozy to me-- more of a winter fragrance. Definitely earthy, but still delicate. Can pick up vanilla and sandalwood most clearly. As others have noted, it doesn't stay strong for very long, but it dries down very pleasantly and I love catching whiffs of it throughout the day!

Surprising Favorite

I received Lake as a free sample and was super surprised by the vanilla note. I notice the vanilla first and then it dries down to a nice woodsy smell. It's very light but I usually mix some of the oil in with an unscented lotion and it lasts all day!

Zero lasting power

I'm so disappointed in this perfume oil. I adore the scent from the bottled perfume for Lake, but it has ZERO lasting power or projection/sillage. So, after doing some research and speaking with the customer service for By Rosie Jane, I decided to also purchase the perfume oil since it's supposed to be a more concentrated fragrance with longer staying power. Well, this does not apply to this product. I tried it twice- once fresh out of the shower and once with thoroughly moisturized pulse points. Both times the scent was GONE by the one hour mark. Also, there was at no point that I could smell this fragrance on me. It was so faint that I had to shove my nose into my wrist just to detect it. This is bad enough for a regular bottle of perfume but even worse for an oil! Sad because the perfume oil for Rosie lasted for literal ages! 100% returning this because there's no point in wearing it. Giving it two stars only because I do love the scent so much- it's very citrusy/bright and sweet/warm at the same time. Sadly, with both the bottled perfume and the oil, the scent lasts for, again, only about an hour! And in that hour, it smells like a fragrance that you applied 6 hours ago! So disappointing.

Rosie Jane oils are the best. While Rosie is my favorite scent for cooler weather, Lake is perfect for warm summer days. Crisp and light.

Sweet & Fresh

I love this scent. I bought the sampler packet after my James full bottle perfume ran out. It’s a sweeter scent, but also has a freshness to it. I’d recommend buying the sampler before settling on a scent, because everyone’s body chemistry is different - but I really enjoy this one.

The softness of the nude musk and sweet rose lasts through the day. Love this company

I love the Lake scent. I got the sampler and immediately fell in love with Lake. I just wish it would last longer. I’ve seen many reviews mention this. For me it’s especially the spray. I hope they can find a way to not change the scent but give it some staying power. I like to smell the perfume on me for a bit and with this I have to constantly smell my wrist and reapply to get a hint of it. But the smell is luxurious and exactly what I was looking for so will continue to buy!!

Can't smell the fragrance at all, so disappointed

I really like the oils from By Rosie Jane, but this is so not one of them. I can't smell the fragrance at all. I reapply it so many times and it's just not there at all. So disappointed. The Leila Lou is amazing!! Go with that one, I get so many comments when I were Leila Lou.

Bright and delicious vanilla

Blind bought this based on description, and am SO happy with it. I’m a fan of this brand because none of their perfumes trigger my allergies. James has been my staple but this is very different. An airy gourmand scent. This light oil that smells EXACTLY like the description. Perfect on a cold evening- cozy, warm and uplifting. Like woody, creamy orange zest. It doesn’t have much silage and stays very close to skin. My bf loves it on me too.

Straight headache. I even waited to see if the dry-down would affect my senses. Unfortunately my headache worsened. I'm not saying it is awful but it is quite strong and definitely not suitable with my body chemistry.
