L'Essentiel Pore Minimizer - Shine-Control Primer

Summer in Miami with the combination of oily skin is the ultimate test for this product and it PASSED! I was looking for an alternative to CD air flash matting spray and I fell upon this one…. I’ve only been using this product for a week and I looooove it! Most primers I’ve used felt like they were clogging my pores and adding makeup would make it feel even more toxic which would lead me to not using primers at all… I’ll keep you updated if my thoughts change:)

Tiny amount keep the makeup on!

I've been using Guerlain products for over 8 years. I never use primers before applying foundation, as I use both oil and cream. I bought this primer to try along with their new L'Essentiel foundation. REVIEW: You need a dime size or less to cover your face. It spreads like butter with very little amount because of its water-jelly-like texture. I have combination skin with dry spots, so it did help spread the foundation evenly and better than my oil and cream combo. I do still use this over my oil/cream some 5 minute apart to hold the foundation all day. It does the job and my skin doesn't go dry or oily as it used to. Like with any product, it is important to use it as directed for it to work. This 30mL will likely last me a year.

This primer feels more like a gel. Glides on easily and just a little goes a long way. Makeup applied over it easily, but did not leave my skin feeling as silky smooth as some other primers. My main concern is shine and I didn’t get much with this. Makeup looked exactly the same at the end of the day as when I put it on. No negative reaction as far as breakouts.

not for the fair skinned

Has done absolutely nothing for me. It could be because I have very pale skin and large pores. I know Guerlain makes great products, but this one just didn't work for me.

Finally a primer that works. !!!! Worth the the money. I have combination skin and this really helps keep my makeup on.

I really like this primer and I’m extremely picky with my primers. My skin is sensitive and most primers will break me out, but this one hasn’t caused any breakouts for me. I like that it doesn’t feel like it’s really sleeping into my pores, but still feels like it gives a nice base for smooth makeup application.

Don’t waste ur $$ on this

This product just does nothing, didn’t hide my pore, I got oily quickly after applying and the green color didn’t correct my redness. The only good thing about it is the texture is lightweight and very easy to apply and that’s it. Don’t waste your $$

This is hands down my favourite primer. Usually pore filling primers break me out but this one doesn't, there isn't silicone/dimethicone. It's so lightweight and absorbs immediately and it makes my makeup look smooth all day.

beautiful but sad

sadly I broke out!! Very beautiful and looked beautiful at first but at the end of my day my skin was raised and broken out. So sad and expensive. it's a lotion/serum texture and feels amazing but I broke out and my skin took days to recover. I don't have oily skin but it really was terrible to recover from.

Amazing! so smooth!

I am so happy this product is not limited edition! this makes my make-up look really smooth and does help it last long! it controls my oils but my makeup still looks glowy which I love! I've also gotten a lot of compliments on my makeup since I've started using this. Will definitely repurchase this!

very beautiful

This primer is like skin care. It works great with the matching foundation. It allows my foundation to last all day. I am combination skin.

L’Essentiel - this product is not a must-have. Not at all what I depend on from Guerlain: I did not find it effective for pore-minimizing or shine reduction. Yes, packaging is attractive and the product feels nice on your skin - But !
