Rouge Pur Couture - The Slim

Very pretty if you’re looking for a sheer wash of color. Can layer for a more pigmented opaque look. Great to layer over a lip balm.

The color isn't quite as obvious as I'd like, even for a relatively faint shade, but it is pretty and I'd almost certainly buy it again.

packaging looks great but that's all. color is not bright enough. it's dull.. I'm not sure about other colors but please don't waste your money on 104 fuschia intime lipstick.

Great buildable color. I’ve reached for this almost every day since I bought it. One coat is just a hint of red color I wear for work, but I can build it if I need to.

Don’t spend much time looking at swatches

I agree with another reviewer that the swatches are the primary problem here. This is not pigmented like a traditional lipstick, like they appear on the models. Pure Nude is light in every sense of the word. It’s pretty but I feel like I have to be careful applying it or I could easily break the bullet. It is matte but I’ve only used a little at a time because I saw the color getting splotchy, so I could see how it could lose that matte finish and become more shiny with more product. The Pure Nude color is probably a lighter pink than my lips and I’m very light skinned. I like it because it’s new and interesting but I may have gone with the red-orange color, had I known it was much less opaque. I’ll probably use this as more of a liner/base color or for a no makeup look? For the full price, no, I can’t say I would recommend this product but if you must give it a try, give it a try! You’ll most likely use it here and there. It’s not a bad product.

Bad Swatches, good product

The photo images are a problem. This is a demi-matte sheer color similar in style to Glossier Gen G but with a more moisturizing and pigmented formula. Maybe you could get to the intensity of the swatched images eventually but it IS a sheer matte and is great as a sheer matte. First swipe is sheer but the color is definitely there. The second swipe layers very nicely and the color applies evenly. I'll definitely buy more!

Beautiful But Pricey

I love orangey lipsticks and this is exactly the color I was looking for. Just a beautiful lipstick overall. I took a star off for price. I was lucky enough to purchase it on sale but I couldn't imagine paying the full price tag. It's not THAT good..

Not So Great

Unfortunately, this is the very first product I tried from YSL that was subpar. I got to try the YSL Slim Radical Matte Lipstick in shade 303 for free, in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I typically love all products from YSL. The brand is amazing and usually come with amazing products. I found this lipstick to be worse than my cheap brand. The color left something to be desired. It did not stay on my lips, no matter how hard I tried. The color bled onto my actual facial skin, which in turn stained. I am a server, so I ended up looking like a clown for half of the day. I would not purchase this product

If you love the glossier generation g sheer matte lipstick, u will love this even more. They are extremely creamy and non drying with a matte finish. They are build able too. The shade103 looks like a very cute coral shade on me something like popsicle lips. I am looking forward to trying new shades from this line. Buy this you won’t regret.

It goes on smoothly and the color is beautiful. Feels a bit like a balm. It also smells really good? My only complaint is that it doesn’t last super well so I have to reapply regularly, but that’s not a big deal. This has become my daily work lipstick as it’s so close to my natural lip color and so easy to wear.

Not as pictured, but pretty enough.

I thought this would be much closer to the pictures shown on the product page, which is why I took two stars away. It feels like a balm, and it has roughly the same pigment as a balm, so it's fine if that's what you're expecting, but the pictures depict a *MUCH* stronger color payoff. I put this on half of my mouth so that you can see my base lip color versus the coverage/color of this balm. Worth noting: it's the waxy type of balm, rather than watery, or creamy, or thick etc. If you've tried Pat McGrath's fetish balms you probably won't like this and it's honestly nowhere near as nice.
