Amazing quality, hair left beautiful soft and shin

*I received this product free from influencer to review* This shampoo is amazing. The scent is beautiful, the packaging is pretty and vibrant and it leaves my hair beautifully soft and shiny. Price point is a bit on the higher side, however, if you need to splurge on a good quality shampoo... This is the one to go for!

DO NOT BUY NORMCORE - EXTREME HAIR LOSS & DAMAGE

My hairstylist recommended Amika Normcore products, and I loved the packaging, colors, and how they made my hair feel at the salon. During a 30% sale in late April 2025, I purchased the large size shampoo, conditioner, and Soulfood deep conditioning treatment. After 2-3 months, my hair started shedding excessively. CLUMPS came out with each wash and when gently brushing with my wetbrush. My husband noticed the hair filling our trash basket. I became terrified to wash my hair more than twice weekly. I desperately tried everything: rosemary oil, dermatologist hair serums, red light therapy, and contacted my OB-GYN for hormone testing (though I'm very healthy, work out regularly, don't drink, and work with a functional nutritionist to maintain balanced hormones). Nothing helped. Even gently running my fingers through my hair causes multiple strands to fall out. My stress is through the roof—I can see my scalp and have lost approximately 2/3 of my hair volume in 5 months. My normally straight, glossy hair is now dry, brittle, and breaking constantly. Finally, I Googled "Amika Normcore Hair Loss" and found countless similar stories. I immediately removed it from my shower and switched back to Pantene, which I used for years without issues. I'm shocked there hasn't been a class-action lawsuit. The stress and horror of watching your hair fall out in clumps is devastating. I hope switching products will restore my hair health over the next six months. DO NOT BUY AMIKA NORMCORE, regardless of how nice it smells. This has been a nightmare experience.

Great shampoo

If you’re after a shampoo that’s easygoing and gentle, the amika Normcore is pretty solid. It gives a nice clean without stripping things bare, smells fresh (vanilla + citrus vibes) and doesn’t leave your strands feeling crunchy. If your hair is super dry or oily-prone, you might need something stronger or more hydrating,but for most people, it’s a winner for daily wash days. I really recommend it

Saving spaces in the bathroom

It's easy to foam. Leave my hair moisturised. The scent is refreshing and not too sweet. The scent does not stay long. I like the slim bottle design.

Keeps hair looking great days after washing!

I have seen Amika on the shelves in various high street shops quite recently and had been intrigued to try it so thought I'd jump at the chance to review the Normcore signature shampoo. The bottle design is bright, eye catching and quite unique in comparison to other shampoos of this quality on the market. The brand is passionate about recycling and they promote sustainability with a recycling programme for their empty products to give them a new lease of life when they are empty. The ingredients in the shampoo are a bit kinder to our hair and contain no sulphates and other nasty chemicals which can cause damage to our luscious locks. The product itself has a non overpowering scent, sometimes I think a lot of shampoo scents can be too much and often linger for a while. It has a nice texture which was easy to work with while washing my hair. I find that a lot of shampoos can be quite watery in texture and can be quite wasteful but Amika have got this and I had absolutely no wastage slipping out of my hand or into the bath. The lather the shampoo gave was my only reason I marked the product down slightly. I like a shampoo which gives quite a good lather to ensure that I'm able to get into the scalp and roots to give them the TLC they deserve. I wash my hair twice each wash to ensure that it is thoroughly clean as my hair is very long and thick. I would definitely give another Amika product a try but I think the price point needs to be good value in order to do so. I let my hair dry naturally and usually twist it to get a nice easy wave through it once it is thoroughly dry, I felt my hair sat a lot better after using the shampoo and going through my natural styling process than when I used my regular shampoo and conditioner, I had no fly aways looking out of place and my hair still feels clean 2 days after washing. I try to minimise the amount I am washing my hair to ensure it retains natural oils, Amika has really helped as usually by day 2 of my normal products it feels like it needs washed again.

Lathers well

The bottle is slim easy to hold with a flip top lid making it convenient to use. The fragrance is almost mint like. The shampoo is thick and lathers really well only requiring a small amount. There are better shampoos out there that are of a lower price.

Smells lovely but not suitable for my hair

This shampoo smells lovely and looks higher end. However, I did not find it suitable for my hair. It left my hair feeling a bit stringy, and I had to wash my hair more frequently than I normally would.

Great purchase

I really have enjoyed trying this product. The packaging is great and the product isn’t too bulky for storage. My hair feels lovely and clean, and the scent isn’t overpowering at all. It is really effective and has left my hair in a great condition. I will definitely be purchasing this product again in the future.

Soft fresh hair

The shampoo left my hair clean, soft and it smells lovely. The bottle is a nice bright colours that stands out. With the mix of ingredients left my hair fresh and shiny. This is a shampoo I would buy again and I would recommend to friends.

Amika normcare signature shampoo

I was quite excited to receive this and to use this nice packaging flip lid easy to use . I didn’t think it lava up as much as I was expecting so I did it twice. There is no sent to this or none that I could smell with no lingering smell either, which is what I like sometimes Makes you feel like you have washed your hair and it’s nice and fresh would I recommend it? I’m not 100% sure. But I will try it again and see how it goes after another week.
